The Reverend Terry C. Martin, Senior Pastor
Rev. Martin comes to us from Wesley UMC in
Hartsville, SC. Rev. Martin has had pastoral experience in a variety of
churches in all parts of South Carolina since he began serving Orrville UMC in
Anderson as a student appointment in 1977. In each appointment he has been
active in the community bringing people together and especially providing
leadership in the area of disaster response. He is a retired Chaplain - US
Air Force Reserve. The Martins have four grown children and five
grandchildren. Terry received his bachelor's degree from Central Wesleyan
College and, in 1981, his Master of Divinity from Emory University.

Larry Moore, Director of Music Ministries
Larry Moore has been Director of Music Ministries since November of 2007. Prior to coming to Main Street, Larry was Director of Music at First United Methodist Church in Modesto, California and a Project Manager for Activant Solutions, located in Livermore, California. Although Larry and his family spent 12 years in Northern California, he is a native of South Carolina, born in Charleston. Larry has a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, NC and a Certificate in Project Management from the University of California, Berkeley. Larry's wife, Martha, is a counselor for the South Carolina Department of Mental Health pursuing her PhD in Psychology. Their family includes son, Caleb, daughter, Grace, son-in-law, Adam and grandson, Noah.

Joyce Nickles, Organist
Joyce Nickles is the organist at Main Street and also serves as the director of Main Street's pre-school choir, the Musik Makers. Joyce join the staff of Main Street in November of 1988, having also served as organist at Galloway United Methodist Church, Hodges Presbyterian Church, South Main Street Baptist Church, and as Children's Choir Director at First Baptist Church in Greenwood. Joyce studied organ and church music at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi and Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina and is a graduate of Lander University with a degree in music/organ. Joyce owns Joyce J. Nickles Music Studio where she teaches piano and Kindermusik. Joyce also serves as Independent Music Teachers chair for the SC Music Teachers Association. Joyce says that she has found that “ideas can turn into dust or magic, depending on the talent that rubs against them.”

Kathy Kelly, Program Coordinator
Kathy Kelly joined the staff of Main Street United Methodist Church in September of 1987 as a Children's Program Coordinator. Kathy moved from this part-time position to the full-time position of Program Coordinator in July of 1996. Kathy earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Winthrop College in 1978 and taught in the Lexington School District for two years before starting a family. Kathy has a passion for missions and has served at Salkehatchie Summer Service camps since 1997. She has also traveled with mission teams to Honduras and to the Mississippi coast following hurricane Katrina. Kathy is married to Jim Kelly. Their family includes sons, Wesley, Patrick, and Jeremy, daughters-in-law, Lauren and Cass and two granddaughters, Selah and Moriah.

Jessica Morris, Director of Youth Ministries
Jessica Morris joined the staff of Main Street as Interim Youth Director in June of 2007 and moved to the permanent position in November of the same year. Jessica grew up in Summerville, South Carolina and has served the South Carolina Conference on Youth Ministries, first as a youth representative and then as an adult table leader. Jessica has an Associate's Degree in Science and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. At Main Street Jessica works with youth in grades 6 – 12 and says her favorite part is watching teens grow in their relationship with Christ. Jessica loves playing, singing, and listening to all types of music but most especially contemporary Christian music. She also loves watching college football especially “those Clemson Tigers.”

Lee Robirds, Congregational Nurse
Lee Robirds serves the congregation of Main Street United Methodist Church as the Congregational Nurse. Lee earned a BA in Social Work from the University of Arkansas in 1974 and a Masters of Social Work degree in 1975. In 1994 Lee was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Lander University. Lee joined the staff of Main Street in November of 2003 having previously worked at the St. Louis Regional Center for Developmental Disabilities and the Children's Hospital Developmental Center. Lee is also part of the staff at Greenwood Internal Medicine, working alongside her husband, Dr. Mark Robirds. Lee and Mark's family include daughters, Darcy and Lauren, son, Nathan, and daughter-in-law, Katie.

Emmie Burns, Church Secretary
Emmie Burns officially joined the church staff as Church Secretary in June of 1998 but since she was raised at Main Street she says it was much more like “coming home.” Emmie is not only responsible for overseeing all office work and producing the weekly service bulletin and newsletter but is the first person most people (both members and visitors) see when they enter the church Monday through Friday. Emmie is married to her high school sweetheart, Jimmy. Emmie and Jimmy have two grown children, Elizabeth and Joey, and are proud grandparents of Drew and Emma Pearl.

Gail Carnes, Financial Secretary
Gail Carnes has been a bookkeeper most of her adult life and serves Main Street as Financial Secretary. Gail and her husband, Perry, call Anderson, South Carolina home because they have moved there “three different times with about 15 moves in between” according to Gail. “Those moves took us from one end of the country to the other", says Gail. Gail came to Main Street in February of 1996 and currently also fills the role of Financial Secretary at Grace Episcopal Church in Anderson. Gail and Perry's family include daughters, LeAnn and Carla and grandsons, Eric, Tyler, Nickolas, and Jay.
